The Atlanta Dream & Georgia TRiO Presents: "S.T.E.A.M. Wars"


The Atlanta Dream & Georgia TRiO presents the 3rd Annual S.T.E.A.M. Wars Conference on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Phillips Arena in Atlanta, GA. The main goal of S.T.E.A.M Wars is to expose students in the Southeast Region to the S.T.E.A.M. Fields. The goal of S.T.E.A.M. Wars is to bring together over 100 industry leading professionals and over 5,000 students who aspire to be college students.
This one-day event will consist of Interactive Presentations, Hands-On Workshops, S.T.E.A.M. Focused College and Career Fair, Robotics Competition & Drone Race, Website, Video Game and Mobile Application Design and much more!!
S.T.E.A.M. Wars is a unique event that brings together educators and vendors who are interested in, and/or who have tools and resources to share that will help introduce S.T.E.A.M education and careers to our students.

SpaceWorks ASTRO Program | High School Internships

SpaceWorks will accept applicants for the summer ASTRO high school internship program through April 15th.

To apply, students need to email their resume and cover letter directly to Ashley Russ (ashley.russ@sei.aero). Cover letters should explain why the student is interested in aerospace and our ASTRO program.

Hello,

The Loft: Coding Internship for Girls has received a new face lift! We recently changed our name to Band of Coders | Girls Academy. We are SUPER excited to embark on this new change and need your support to create awareness about our programs and the great things we are doing in the community!

Below are upcoming programs that we need your involvement with. By sharing, getting involved, and/or donating, we make a positive impact on the next generations of girls in STEM.

Also, Dyana Bagby with Reporter Newspaper, wrote a great article on Band of Coders | Girls Academy featuring four young girls helping their community through technology!

1. Peachtree United Methodist Church Workshop
Middle school girls solve community issues through coding.
Come celebrate with us on March 30th for The Pitch Event.
Kids Helping Kids - kindness app with daily suggestions to pay it forward.
Save the Gnomes - Recycle app to save animals.

2. WIT Girl Day
Women in Technology emerging experience for WTI Girls. Girls will learn how to bring their ideas to life. Develop a mobile application.

3. Summer Coding Camps
Girls will learn what it takes to be an entrepreneur. During our summer camp they will be immersed in Product development, programming, app design, and community based projects. Summer STEM camps for girls 9-13 years old.
